Village Attorney

The Village Attorney serves as legal advisor to the Board of Trustees, to the boards and councils of the Village, and to the Village Manager and other Village officers and employees. He performs these functions under the supervision of the Law Committee, which is composed of two members of the board of Trustees. In addition, he acts as counsel to the Town of Scarsdale on matters such as taxes, finances, elections, and government procedures.

The Village Attorney is Wayne D. Esannason, Esq. He is assisted by Richard M. Gardella, Esq., who serves as of counsel. Mr. Gardella is the former Village Attorney. In addition, Mr. Esannason serves as Village prosecutor. In the latter role, he prosecutes violations of the Scarsdale Village Code and the State Vehicle and Traffic law. Carolyn DeSiena, Esq., assists Mr. Esannason as a trial attorney for traffic prosecutions.
